What F2 Means
On the Electric Cooktop platform, Thermador documents F2 as the electronics overheating and the corresponding zone switching off. On the Induction platform, Thermador groups F2 together with F4, E7015, E8207, and E8208 under the same "electronics overheated" description.
Common Causes of F2
- Electronics overheating from extended high-heat use
- Poor ventilation beneath the cooktop restricting heat dissipation
- A cooling-related part problem if the code recurs without an obvious heat cause
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Allow the cooktop to cool, then touch a control element to resume once the problem clears on its own.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- If F2 keeps recurring even with normal cooling time, that points to a real part problem rather than something to keep resetting past.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
