Thermador Range Shows an “E” Code: What It Actually Means

Thermador doesn't publish one universal meaning for every numbered range problem — here's how we actually approach it.

Thermador’s own documentation treats a generic “E” plus a number on a range display as a problem that needs a reset (pressing any key to clear the alert tone), with a call to service if it returns — it doesn’t publish one fixed meaning per number across every range platform the company has built. That’s different from, say, the dishwasher line, where several codes do have one documented, specific cause.

Our technicians note the exact code and when it appeared, then test the relevant parts directly rather than guessing at a cause the code itself doesn’t specify. It takes a bit longer than a lookup table, but the part we replace ends up being the part that was actually to blame.
