Thermador Range

Thermador PRG486WDG

Model # PRG486WDG

The PRG486WDG is the all-gas version of Thermador’s 48” Pro Grand® dual-oven range: a two-burner-plus-griddle cooktop feeding two separate gas ovens – a 3 cu ft primary and a 1.3 cu ft secondary on the left – rather than the electric ovens used on the PRD-prefixed dual-fuel models. Because every heat source on this range is gas, from the burners to both ovens’ igniters, isolating which specific burner or which oven is affected is the first step in any service call.

Both ovens run their own Self Clean cycle and Keep Warm mode independently, so a stalled clean cycle or an inconsistent Keep Warm temperature needs to be tied to the specific cavity before further diagnosis. If the griddle, a burner, or either oven won’t reliably light and there’s any smell of gas, shutting off the gas supply to the range comes first, before any other troubleshooting step.

FAQ

Thermador PRG486WDG FAQ

Both ovens on the PRG486WDG are gas-fired - this is an all-gas range. The dual-fuel PRD486WDGU, by contrast, pairs the same gas cooktop with two electric ovens.

Just one - the two ovens have independent igniters and gas valves, so a problem in the secondary oven's ignition system doesn't indicate a problem with the primary oven.
