The SGS365TS is the 36-inch sibling of the SGS305TS, delivering 58,200 total BTU on natural gas across the same 5-burner sealed layout with a 16,000 BTU center burner. Like the 30-inch version, it skips the ExtraLow simmer burners, so every burner uses Thermador’s standard push-to-turn mechanical knob.
The extra width doesn’t change the service profile much – this is still a purely mechanical gas cooktop, so igniter fouling, misaligned burner caps, and reignition-sensor buildup account for the large majority of repair calls rather than anything electronic.
Key Features
- 36-inch, 5-burner sealed gas cooktop (Masterpiece line)
- 58,200 total BTU on natural gas / 45,200 BTU on LP
- 16,000 BTU center burner
- Cast-iron grates with rubber feet, stainless steel surface
- Automatic reignition if a burner flame blows out
Most Common Issues on This Model
If you smell gas, shut off the gas supply at the shutoff valve first, then inspect the affected burner for a cracked cap or blocked port.
A burner that won't stay lit after release is often a reignition sensor issue, not a bad valve.
Uneven heating across the center burner is commonly a clogged port rather than a control problem.
