What E3400 Means
The owner manual is blunter than the website here. For the split form E:34-00 it says water is running into the appliance continuously — the fill has not stopped when it should have — and its first instruction is to close the supply valve, which is why this one is treated as urgent rather than as an ordinary inflow complaint.
Common Causes of E3400
- An inlet valve that has stuck open, mechanically or electrically
- A control output holding the fill valve energised when it should have dropped out
- Debris under the valve seat keeping it from closing fully
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
SAFETY FIRST: shut the supply valve to the dishwasher before doing anything else, because an inlet that will not close is a flooding risk rather than a performance one. Then book the visit.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A valve stuck open will keep filling whether the machine is running or not, so this is one of the few dishwasher codes where the water should come off at once.
- The inlet valve sits at the water connection behind the toe panel and is replaced with the supply isolated, not with it live.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
