What E6102 Means
A drainage complaint on the four-digit control generation. What makes this number unusually encouraging is that Thermador’s own owner manual files it under conditions that are not an appliance problem at all: a drain pump cover that was not clicked back down after cleaning, or something hard sitting in the pump.
Common Causes of E6102
- A drain pump cover replaced without clicking fully home
- A fragment of glass, a fruit stone or a bone chip lodged in the pump
- A drain hose kinked where it leaves the cabinet
- A clogged airgap fitting on installations that use one
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Lift out the filter, take off the drain pump cover and clear standing water and debris, then press the cover back until it clicks — a cover that only looks seated is the classic repeat cause. Check the drain hose for a sharp bend and clear the airgap fitting if your installation has one.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- There can be broken glass in the pump well, so anyone reaching in should expect it and work slowly.
- If the pump is clear, the cover is seated and the hose is straight, the problem has moved into the pump or its wiring and needs a meter.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
