What E9210 Means
This one is in the owner manual but not on Thermador’s website. The machine has decided the lower spray arm is not turning as it should, and the manual gives three reasons in order of likelihood: dishware fouling the arm, the arm not clipped back on properly after cleaning, and filters blocked enough to starve it.
Common Causes of E9210
- A long utensil or a tall item dropping through the lower rack into the arm’s path
- A lower spray arm not re-seated after cleaning
- Filters soiled enough to restrict the water reaching the arm
- A blocked spray nozzle on the arm itself
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Spin the lower spray arm by hand — it should turn freely through a full circle. If it catches, look for a handle or a platter dropping through the rack. If it was recently taken off for cleaning, twist it back down until it locks. Then check the filters.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- If the arm turns freely, the filters are clean and the code stays, the problem has moved to the circulation pump or the arm’s bearing and needs looking at properly.
- Repeatedly loading around a problem rather than fixing it leaves you with dishes that come out dirty from the bottom rack every time.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
