The DWHD661EFM is the Masterpiece® Collection, bar-handle version of Thermador’s Star Sapphire-spec dishwasher, matching the DWHD661EFP’s 42 dBA rating, StarDry Zeolite drying, and built-in water softener, with fixed bar-handle hardware instead of the Professional handle.
The built-in water softener is a feature this tier has that the lower 640/660 tiers in the Masterpiece line don’t — a softener that isn’t regenerating, or a salt reservoir that hasn’t been topped up, is checked as its own maintenance item separate from a genuine drainage or inflow problem, since low water-softening performance can look like general wash-quality complaints.
