What Freezer High Temp. Alarm Means
Thermador's guide for the T36BT110NS, T36BT120NS and T36IT100NP states this alarm switches on when the freezer compartment becomes too warm, and lists three normal triggers: the appliance was just switched on, a large quantity of fresh food went in, or the freezer door stayed open too long.
Common Causes of Freezer High Temp. Alarm
- Start-up after installation or a power outage
- A big load of room-temperature food
- The freezer door or drawer left open
- A cooling problem such as a stopped evaporator fan, a frosted-over evaporator or a compressor that is not running
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Touch "Yes, see highest temp." and confirm with OK to silence it and read the warmest temperature reached. Check whether frozen food thawed. Before loading a lot of fresh food, switch on Super freezing first, as the guide recommends.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- If the alarm repeats with no new food and the door closed, the freezer is not holding temperature, and that calls for diagnosis of fans, defrost and the sealed system.
- Any refrigerant-side repair is EPA-certified technician work.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
