What E01 Means
Not found in Thermador owner literature. Several independent repair references agree that E01 on Thermador refrigerators points to the fresh-food compartment temperature sensor (an NTC thermistor) reading out of range or not being read by the control board.
Common Causes of E01
- Fresh-food sensor open or shorted
- Moisture or corrosion at the sensor connector
- Damaged harness between sensor and control board
- Control board input problem
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Power the unit off at the breaker for a few minutes and back on. If E01 returns, compare the actual fresh-food temperature with a separate thermometer so the technician knows whether cooling is affected.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Testing the sensor means measuring its resistance at a known temperature behind interior panels, and the control board has to be ruled out before parts are ordered.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
