Thermador Freezer E07 Error Code

Not in Thermador owner literature. Two independent repair references give E07 as a freezer evaporator sensor problem. That sensor tells the control when the defrost cycle has cleared the coil, so its failure usually shows up as frost buildup.

What E07 Means

Not in Thermador owner literature. Two independent repair references give E07 as a freezer evaporator sensor problem. That sensor tells the control when the defrost cycle has cleared the coil, so its failure usually shows up as frost buildup.

Common Causes of E07

  • Evaporator sensor open or shorted
  • Sensor clip loose on the evaporator
  • Wiring damage behind the evaporator cover

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try

Power-reset the unit and look through the freezer for heavy frost on the rear panel or reduced airflow. Note whether the code appeared with frost, since that points to a defrost-related cause.

⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That

  • The evaporator sensor sits on the coil behind the rear cover, so the coil has to be defrosted and the cover removed to test it.

Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

FAQ

E07 FAQ

The control relies on the evaporator reading to end defrost correctly; without it, defrost may run too short or be skipped, and ice builds on the coil.

A manual defrost can buy time, but the code will return until the sensor or its wiring is fixed.
