What Filter Expired Means
A maintenance reminder. On the touchscreen French-door models, "Filter is expired." lights up when the water filter is due; Thermador says to change the filter every 6 months, when this message appears, or when water output drops noticeably.
Common Causes of Filter Expired
- The 6-month filter interval has run out
- The filter status was not reset after the last change
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Install a new filter, then reset the status under Filter Management on the display. Run water through the dispenser until it flows without air.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- No repair is needed unless the message persists after a reset or water flow stays weak with a fresh filter, which points toward the valve or supply line.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
