The T18ID905LP is the dispenser-equipped version of Thermador’s 18-inch freezer column, trading roughly one cubic foot of capacity (7.8 cu ft versus 8.6 cu ft on the plain T18IF905SP) for a built-in external ice and water dispenser with an illuminated touch display and three programmable fill presets. The UltraClarityPro filter cartridge sits behind the ice maker plumbing, and a full-width ice drawer feeds Thermador’s diamond-shaped cubes to the dispenser chute.
Because water and ice have to travel from the internal maker through a door-mounted dispenser, this model adds failure points that a plain freezer column doesn’t have: dispenser chute leaks, water lines pinched by the left-hinged door swing, and a touch display that can stop responding independently of the cooling system. As with the rest of the Freedom line, the freezer’s compressor and controls are self-contained, so a warm compartment with a working dispenser points to the sealed system rather than the water/ice path.
