Thermador sold the T18ID800LP as the mirror image of the T18ID800RP, for kitchens where the freezer sits to the right of the fresh-food column and the door has to open away from it. Everything behind the door is the same: 8.4 cubic feet, a stainless dispenser with chilled water plus crushed and cubed ice, and a freezer that runs from -9 F to 7 F.
A door-mounted water line can freeze if the dispenser is not used for weeks, so a dispenser that gives ice but no water after a vacation is a common and usually fixable complaint. Ice production also depends on how cold the freezer is set; a column set near 7 F makes ice noticeably more slowly than one near 0 F.
